INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ATTEND WORLD LANGUAGE COMPETITION

.Last Friday and Saturday, 20 CHS World Language students attended UW’s annual World Languages Day competition and cultural festival.  Congratulations to the following CHS students who placed in their contest divisions: Spanish Writing—Essay  2st Place—Quincy Dereemer  3rd Place—Christina Loring and Alexsis Carter

Central Speech & Debate competed at the 2024 HOLE-IN-THE-WALL District National Qualifying Tournament at Laramie County Community College and took home some major awards!

Dr. Delbridge was awarded the 5th Brigade Commanders Coin for Excellence, on behalf of the 5th Brigade Commander and the Brigade Sergeant Major for supporting the Staff and the Cadets of Centrals Army JROTC. 

Sun Hongo was awarded the 5th Brigade Commanders Coin for Excellence, for being an Outstanding Cadet. 

The Wyoming Army National Guard received A Certificate for all they do for Central High school and the JROTC.

 


Office Manager Cindy Brown received a Certificate of Appreciation for her unwavering support of the JROTC Program.

Laura Magness the Bookkeeper for Central High School received A certificate of Appreciation for her continued support of the JROTC Program.

Custodian Steven Ojeda received his Certificate of Appreciation for his hard work and continuous support of the JROTC Program.

STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Oct. 30 - Matthew Wallace

Matthew Wallace, who is a senior at Central High, was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of Oct. 30.

Wallace was nominated by the selection committee for his extracurricular involvement and academic achievements at Central High. According to the selection committee, he is a kind, respectful, empathetic and hard-working student.

Wallace is an active member of JROTC and participates in JROTC Raider, color guard and drill. He has been awarded the Special Forces Association Medal for JROTC due to his exemplary behavior. He is a mentor for other students and plans to join the U.S. Army after high school.  

Wallace’s favorite teacher is Sgt. Maj. Roger Harder. According to Wallace, Harder has helped him develop leadership skills and has been a role model who is always available to support him.

Our Family Pass Has A New Look

Get your family pass at athletic events.  For a family of 2 or less it's $55 and for a family of 3 or more it's $75.  The actual card must be presented at each event.  Go Indians!!

The Cheyenne Central junior placed second in discus at Friday’s Okie Blanchard Invitational with a toss of 137 feet. He won shot put with a heave of 51-4.

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD COMPETITION

We had seven students compete in the Wyoming state Science Olympiad this last Saturday.

Students compete in groups of 1-2 in events covering various science topics.   Each student competed in multiple events and everyone placed (1st, 2nd or 3rd) in at least one of their events.   Congratulations to all of them on their amazing accomplishments!
