CHS Memorial Dedication
Cheyenne Central High School recognized our fallen heroes at a Memorial Dedication May 24th, 2023. Special guest included the governor of Wyoming, mayor of Cheyenne, and several active duty and retired military personnel. A bronze statue was dedicated to our fallen heroes of Wyoming. There was 1 service member during the Spanish War, 8 service members during WWI, 32 service members during WWII, 6 service members during the Koren War, 6 service members during the Vietnam War and 1 service member during the War on Terrorism, Iraq.

Our JROTcadets were asked to participate in the traditional flag posting at each grave sit on F.E. Warren Air Force Base.

Purpose and Benefits to the Community
Service Project 23-24

Visiting the VA involves the Cadets of the Indian Battalion in an educational project that benefits the community. It teaches the Battalion to give back to those who served their country and fought for the pride and freedom we have.

Indian Battalion was the Color Guard for Award Ceremony for 115th Fires Brigade Meritorious Unit Citation (MUC) they received from their deployment. This was a huge event with the Governor and his wife, the Adjutant General of Wyoming, the Army and National Guard Generals of Wyoming, and many other VIP's.

In-Ranks inspection
Inspection

We had The FE Warren Wing Command Chief,  Army National Guard Command Sergeant Major, Navy Command Master Chief do an In-Ranks inspection on the Indian Battalion Army JROTC. Then the Senior NCOs Awarded the TOP Cadets who were OUTSTANDING in appearance and answered all questions that were asked about military knowledge and regulations correctly. (Only 5%) Received Gold Cords, which are a permanent award that they have for their duration in the program.

Military Support Activities:

  • 2021 - Conducted a Fundraiser and built a hi/lo ropes course for VA Medical Center
  • 2022 - Conducted a Fundraiser and Food drive for “Veterans Rock”
  • 2023 – Conducted a fundraiser and built a memorial for Central High School “Fallen Heroes”
  • Annually recognize all senior students going into the Military
  • Help FEW AFB place flags on Memorial Day in their cemetery
  • Annually our JROTC marches in uniform at the MLK parade

  • May 23- Memorial Day "Hero's Wall" display 7:30-1445
  • June 3-7 JROTC Summer Camp JCLC Nightly Use Tues-Thurs 1600-0630 the next day.
  • 23-24 Service Learning Project - Visited the Cheyenne VA Center and distributed blankets.
  • 23-24 Fund raising donated to the Safehouse Services a total of $1,324.00.
